SAIC Extends Collaboration with Building Homes for Heroes

Latest $100,000 donation furthers mission of gifting wounded veterans mortgage-free homes

Reston, Va., Dec. 5, 2024 – Science Applications International Corp. (NASDAQ: SAIC) has donated an additional $100,000 to Building Homes for Heroes (BHH), building on a partnership established in 2013. SAIC has a longstanding commitment to veterans, and this latest announcement brings total contributions to BHH to more than $840,000. SAIC employees have now helped 18 veterans and their families receive mortgage-free homes.

Occurring just a few days before BHH gifts its 400th home, the check presentation included SAIC Executive Vice President for Air Force and Combatant Commands Vinnie DiFronzo, BHH board member John Madison, construction coordinator Kerry Crosby and home recipients George Vera and Jose Santiago. Established in 2001, BHH builds and modifies homes for wounded veterans and averages a gifted home every 11 days.

“For more than a decade, SAIC and our employees have actively supported Building Homes for Heroes and its mission – both financially and through volunteer service,” said DiFronzo. “With nearly a third of our workforce made up of veterans, the desire to give back runs deep in our culture, and we are incredibly proud to continue our partnership with BHH.

“Building Homes for Heroes is proud to partner with SAIC in support of our nation’s heroes, who serve and sacrifice so much,” said Andy Pujol, founder and CEO of Building Homes for Heroes. “These funds will contribute to our mission of changing lives and even saving lives. We look forward to many more accomplishments ahead, including reaching our milestone 400th home this December, and helping more than 5,000 heroes in 2025 alone through all of our programs. Together, we’re truly building better and brighter lives for our servicemen and women, and making our communities and country a better place.”

Conducted on the exhibit floor of the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, the ceremony location allowed active-duty conference attendees to join in the celebration.
